Parts of the right triangleWALK-THROUGH for the theoremTo get the length of a missing side of a right triangle, square the two sides that make up the right angle or the two shortest sides (legs.) Then add them together and square root the sum, and that equals the longest side (hypotenuse). You can use this equation: A squared + B squared = C squared (this equation work if you are missing the hypotenuse.) It works for any side, so if you are missing a leg, subtract the square of the other leg from the hypotenuse's square (C squared - A or B squared depending on which side you are missing, and the answer is the missing side.)
