who is pythagoras?Pythagoras was a Greek mathematician that was alive in the 500s BC. He spent most of his life in Greece and Sicily. He died at the age of 60 from starvation.

What was he famous for?Pythagoras was most famous for proving his Pythagorean true. The Sumerians, that lived 2,000 years previously, all ready had an idea that is was generally true. Pythagoras proved that it was true for every right triangle.

Pythagoras' childhood
Pythagoras was born in 570 BC, and his parents were Mnesarchus (father,) and Pythais (mother.) Mnesarchus was a merchant. He spent most of his life in Samos but traveled many places with his father.
